The internet of things refers to connecting household appliances, objects and gadgets to the internet, which then make them controllable from your smart phone or computer. Not only that, by virtue of your object being connected online, they can begin to “make decisions”. For instance your sprinkler system might reprogram itself to not come on if there is rain predicted.
We cannot help but get excited about this. Your toaster, lights, locks, doors and plenty of other objects and appliances in and around your house all become remotely controllable. Now if only there was tech to butter the toast and bring it to you, then you wouldn’t have to get out of bed.
