A single pill at a fraction of the cost is the joyful refrain being sung by the South African health system. Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has launched the new pill Ga Rankuwa in the North West. With only one pill a month, the cost of treating a single patient is now only R89. The Health Department says almost 400,000 pills are immediately available. Newly diagnosed patients and pregnant and breast-feeding women are at the top of the list.
